MARIANNA, FL – Macy Jordan of Bascom, FL has been named the recipient of the Farm Credit of Northwest Florida AgVocator Scholarship for 2024. The award, totaling up to $24,000, will help Jordan major in agricultural communications at the University of Florida after her graduation from Malone High School and Chipola College in May. According to Jordan, she plans to be a loud voice for farmers and their mental health after witnessing her family lose their entire crop after Hurricane Michael.

Ranked No. 1 in her class, among her notable accomplishments are Florida FFA State Creed Speaking champion, Florida FFA District II president, National Peanut Festival Junior Fair Board member along with her participation in countless volunteer positions around her community to give back.

“Macy is so well-rounded and well-versed,” said Kim Barber, Malone School FFA Advisor. “She is a leader, dependable, conscientious, studious, responsible, well-mannered and is respected by her teachers and peers,” she continued. For example, Barber noted how well she communicates with everyone from elementary students to the executive of a company or a dignitary.

John Gregory, CEO and President of Farm Credit, states, “All the scholarship applicants were amazing in what they have accomplished in academic achievements and community involvement and future workplans. We hope they will return to their rural communities, plant roots, and help them continue to grow. We are delighted we can help Macy prosper in the next step in her academic career.”
