Marianna City Farmers' Market Second Annual Melons In the Park

6/19/2019

Jackson County Growers Association is excited to announce the Second Annual Melons in the Park event at the Marianna City Farmers' Market, Saturday, June 29, 2019.  The Market will open at 7:00 AM, and festivities will begin at 7:30 AM and continue until 1:00 PM.

Farm Credit of Northwest Florida is proud to support the Melons in the Park event at the Marianna City Farmers Market again this year. Located locally here in Marianna, Farm Credit supports rural communities and agriculture with financing options for small and large tracts of land, homes, construction, land improvements, timber and much more. Whether you're looking to build your dream home in the country or just simply want your own piece of land, we're here to help guide you through the rural financing process. For more information visit www.GoRural.net or give us a call at 855-GoRural.

We want everyone to come out to celebrate our season with a free slice of watermelon, door prizes, games and fun.  Hometown Inflatables will be set up with the obstacle course bouncy play station for the kids, and BLOODONE'S Big Red Blood Mobile will be set up all morning for those that wish to donate a unit of blood.  One unit of blood can save up to three lives. HEYWORD, a local band, will be in concert from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, so come early and stay late for lots of fun and festivities. Oh, and don't forget, our growers and crafters will be set up as usual all morning long with lots of Fresh From Florida produce and goods for sale. We should have a good variety of produce available as okra, corn, peas, butter beans are now coming in as well as watermelons and cantaloupes. We have been having a good selection of cottage foods available: jams, jellies, honey, cookies, breads and other pastries.

Customers are reminded to fill out a customer appreciation ticket each time they make a purchase to be eligible for the drawing of $25 in Market Money, and other great door prizes that will be given away throughout the morning.

If you are a grower, crafter or other vendor and wish to set up at the Market for this event, please see Market Manager, Tony Mayo at Marianna City Farmers' Market, Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday, 7:00 AM-12 Noon, or call Terry Johnson at 850-592-5114.

See You at the Market!
