Ann Blount

Dr. Ann Blount

Dr. Ann Blount is a Forage Breeder and Professor Emeritus at the University of Florida, formerly serving as a state Forage Extension Specialist at the North Florida Research and Education Center in Marianna. She holds degrees from Texas A&M and the University of Florida, including a Ph.D. in forage breeding and genetics. Over her 30+ year career, Dr. Blount has co-developed more than 90 forage cultivars used across the U.S. and internationally. Her research focuses on plant breeding for subtropical forage systems, and she continues to collaborate globally. She has published over 300 research and extension papers and contributed to a book chapter on bahiagrass genetics.
